Welcome to my dedicated collection of software-focused projects! While many of my builds highlight the marriage of hardware and code, this page is centered on ready-to-use applications designed to run on your Raspberry Pi or web server. Whether you are looking to secure your home network with a custom proxy, bring interactive, aquarium-inspired digital displays to your living room, or deploy web-based engines for photos and quizzes, these projects provide functional, software-first solutions. This is a web interface designed to provide simple home automation with the Energenie power sockets. It uses Python Bottle to provide a web server which can then control the Energenie Pi-Mote.
Piquarium provides a display inspired by those at sea life centres such as the London Aquarium. It cycles through showing information on the different fish in the aquarium. It also has an indicator to show when the fish are due to be fed and it integrates with the Pi-power project which can be used for simple home automation.
The display is based around HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Capture photos and images using the Raspberry Pi HQ camera with picamera2. Based on libcamera you can use this program to control the capture using a push button switch or the keyboard.
This is a AJAX photo gallery using PHP and JavaScript. It provides a thumbnail list and a main image. It allows the images to be loaded without a page refresh and includes a Javascript slideshow function.
wQuiz is a web based quiz engine, which is an ongoing project and is used on some of my websites. The latest release is available from this site, but the latest development code is available from the Google Code, wQuiz page.
Kidsafe helps protect members of the family from inappropriate content on the Internet. It can protect all computers in the home, including tablets and games consoles without needing to install additional software on the computers.
