Broadband reconnected

After over a week without a proper Internet connection at home, I'm back online. Virgin Media have just been around to reconnect me. I'm not quite fully reconnected as I want to have the cable modem in a back bedroom, which means calling in a specialist cable installation team. For now I have a wired connection downstairs which I can use with my laptop.

Of course it is possible to just add a wireless router, but I want to use a desktop as a linux firewall and web server which really needs to be directly on the cable modem.
